Which export formats are available

In Casebase.ai, you can export use cases in various formats — for presentations, reports, or further processing in other tools. This article explains which export formats are available, who can use them, and how the export works.

📄 1. Available Export Formats

📊 Excel (.xlsx)
Exports the metadata and field content of one or more use cases as a structured table. Ideal for data analysis, reporting, and further processing in other tools.

📄 PDF
Exports a single use case as a formatted report — with all filled-in fields, organized by sections and maturity level. Well suited for internal documentation and stakeholder updates.

📊 PowerPoint (.pptx)
Exports a use case as a presentation slide — with key metadata and content presented compactly. Ready to use in presentations and steering meetings.

💡 The Portfolio Matrix can also be exported as PowerPoint. See the Portfolio Matrix article for details.

âŦ‡ī¸ 2. Exporting a Single Use Case

  1. Open the use case and go to the Summary page.
  2. Click the export icon (📤) or the three-dot menu (⋯) in the top right.
  3. Select the desired format: Excel, PDF, or PowerPoint.
  4. The file is downloaded automatically.

đŸ“Ļ 3. Exporting Multiple Use Cases (Bulk)

Via the Management List in Portfolio Management, you can export multiple use cases as Excel at once.

  1. Go to 🗂ī¸ Portfolio Management → Management List.
  2. Select the desired use cases using the checkboxes in the left column — or select all using the header checkbox.
  3. Click Export in the action bar.
  4. The Excel file with all selected use cases is downloaded.

💡 The bulk export via the Management List gives you full control over the content: you can filter which use cases to include before exporting.

🔐 4. Who Can Export?

Single export (PDF, Excel, PowerPoint): Admins and Moderators

Bulk export via Management List: Admins and Moderators

Portfolio Matrix as PowerPoint: Admins and Moderators

ℹī¸ Members and Visitors do not have export functionality. If you need an export as a member, contact your moderator or admin.
